For this infographic, my primary goal was to educate expatriates on Singlish, its origins, features, and cultural significance. I aimed to present Singlish not just as a local colloquial language, but as a reflection of Singapore’s multicultural identity. By making the content accessible and informative, I hoped to help non-locals appreciate Singlish as a meaningful part of local life.

While Standard Singapore English (SSE) is used in formal settings such as work and education, Singlish remains a vital mode of informal communication. The infographic emphasises how understanding Singlish can help expatriates better connect with locals and integrate into the community on a personal level.
